Joan and me...

I shall now and forever nestle alongside some greats... Howard Hodgkin, Stanley Spencer, the fabulous Joan Eardley, Alfred East, Thomas Gotch, Frank Bellamy, Alan Davie, Frank Brangwyn, Robert Mercer and many many many talented image makers.  We will all be wrapped up and unveiled at various times from the vaults of 'The Collection' at The Alfred East Art Gallery.
What an honour for me and thank you very much.

Kites and crows.
Painted Spring 2012
Inspired by an evening walk with Josh. It depicts a rugged field in early summer, the sun is setting, the shadows are low, the temperature is cool but high in the sky preparations are underway for the breeding season ahead. Red kites are new neighbours in the skies of Loddington, however the graceful gliders cause some distress amongst some of the locals. It was the noise, agility and perceived sense of threat that caught my attention...along with the rough and tumble of new spring growth.
