A splash with colour..

Where is our summer?

Its cool, grey, wet and July!
Regardless of the dullness of the sky I'm determined to add a bit of flair and colour to my work. Fresh off the easel today is ..... well, it's illustrated above...(haven't thought of a title yet)... but will do soon.  It's St Leonard's Church, Loddington and just across the road from home.  I'm currently fine tuning my drawing skills and palette knife throwings with some images of our local parish. Hopefully I'll be showing them very soon.

Yesterday afternoon I visited a splendid  'Open Gardens' event at Gumley, Leicestershire. What a turn out..Not only did I have a top notch ploughman's, chocolate cake and 2 mugs of tea. This kinda put a halt on my personal euphoria of running 7 miles before breakfast yesterday! Anyway, I had a spin or two of roulette, purchased a lovely book about Henry Moore witnessed some splendid garden design and arrangements.. and 'stomach laden' I waddled around the village and discovered some fantastic new walks to enjoy during the coming months. Josh my pooch will be very pleased. There was also a lovely showing of artwork at the church. 'and whoever purchased my framed prints.. Thank you very very much indeedy!'   The weather was pretty kind which made the entire event really enjoyable. Well done to all.
